General Pet Turtle Care
Anyone that owns a turtle knows just how rewarding pet turtle care can be, but care for a pet turtle varies depending entirely on the type or species. Just like how there are many types of fish in the ocean, there are more than a handful of different turtle species alive and well today. Most of which have very different needs in captivity than one another. The care of pet turtles can be split up into two main groups in captivity. The water turtles commonly referred to as terrapins, and the tortises that live on land. This web page will focus mainly on turtle species that are commonly found in the pet store. Please, never take a turtle from the wild! They don't do very well in captivity and will most likely die. :( Water Turtles
